Photos of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 twin

Attention Ton-Up Boys: Your Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 twin is here.
Here are more photos of the new Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 twin cafe racer, shown for the first time to the U.S. public at the Long Beach motorcycle show last weekend.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 is already well known in the U.S. and, for a cafe racer, an extra cylinder and more power can not be a bad thing. Critically, Royal Enfield said when it was introduced that, with new motor, the Continental GT 650 will "do the ton" (100 miles per hour).

Given that, is the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 now the perfect cafe racer? See my blog item comparing designer Charlie Trelogan's definition of a cafe racer to the Royal Enfield Continental GT.

Looking for a cafe racer? The Continental GT 650 twin looks the part.

The motor could shine more; perhaps it wants to be blacked out?

The Continental GT puts its mass forward,
almost begging the rider to lean in.

Light-looking taillight assembly really appeals to me.

Royal Enfield touts the twin.
I'll take this one: your author at the Long Beach motorcycle show.

Some other type of seat should have been thought up before just slapping that one down on the frame. Leaving 6 inches or longer of exposed frame in back of the seat looks as though someone forgot the old rule: "Measure twice, cut once."
