Wanted: One Royal Enfield Indian Chief motorcycle.
Charles Todd, of Australia, wants one, but since he decided to buy, ads for motorcycles like the one pictured here seem to have become less common. It is not that he is extremely picky.
"I am not after a pristine or concourse motorcycle, I am not necessarily after a cycle with all the bells and whistles. A plain RE Chief would suit me fine. I would like to find a cycle that is running, and my preference would be for matching numbers although I acknowledge that this is unlikely."
The motorcycle pictured "had the look of what I am after. Not that I wouldn't buy something that didn't have this look; if the cycle runs and has matching numbers, then I would be keen to buy."
Obviously, price is a consideration, too. After all, Charles will have to pay to have the motorcycle shipped to him in Australia. If you have a reasonably priced motorcycle you think he should consider, email him at Royal.Enfield.Chief@gmail.com
Charles is a real rider, not just a collector. He is currently preparing his 1994 Enfield 500 for a trip next April from Melbourne to the Principality of Hutt River in Western Australia, a ride that crosses the Nullabor desert. He sent a map of the route, which left my jaw sagging.
