Royal Enfield will unveil the new Bullet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the INTERMOT exhibition in Cologne, Germany. The press release on the unveiling promises to reveal "The legend in a new shape."
It goes on to build all the suspense it can: "Royal Enfield will unveil the mystery about the new Royal Enfield Classic on the stand D68 in Hall 10.1 as a world premiere."
Based on what Kevin Mahoney of Classic Motorworks has revealed about it, it will be worth seeing. He told us, among other things:
"What isn’t apparent and is only known to a few is that the new bike (that is coming) is about as new as it can be. For example the body work is being made by a new and more expensive vendor. The engines are being machined by a new company that makes Japanese engines so that they are better than current ones, which aren’t too bad in and of themselves. The entire frame is new and was designed by the people in Italy that make Ducati frames. The new bike really is a new bike. There are a few things that are the same, but not many. At a quick glance it will look like a more retro-model of what we have now, but a closer examination will reveal that it is a way different bike."
Pictures of the new Bullet no doubt will be on the Internet the moment it is unveiled. Set your alarm: 11:30 a.m. in Cologne is 5:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time in the U.S.

Hi David,
ReplyDeletedo you have a reliable sorce for this "...Pictures of the new Bullet no doubt will be on the Internet the moment it is unveiled..."?!
I ask because neither Royal Enfield India nor ZMT (managing the RE stand on Intermot in Cologne) has announced anything about it.
By experience it's not in their (Rheinländer or Kölsche) mentality doing something instantly besides drinking Kölsch beer.
Hopefully I'm wrong this time...!!! I was born and bred between Köln and Zülpich, now living between the North Sea shore and Hamburg.
Regards,
Johann from Germany
No, Johann, I don't have a source. I just assume everything in life is now "public" instantly on the Internet! I am fascinated by this. Lots of articles are running elsewhere about the "new" Enfield but the pictures they show look to me like the UCE engine in the Electra that Kevin Mahoney told me was NOT the new design, just the new engine in the Electra. I don't think we've seen the "C-5" bike he described to me anywhere yet.
